Roland Tichy is among Germany’s most distinguished economically liberal and independent journalists. A former Editor-in-Chief of WirtschaftsWoche, founder, and publisher of Tichys Einblick, and bestselling author, he has for decades stood for ordoliberal principles, a pragmatic approach to energy and migration policy, and a sovereign Europe. With incisive analysis, he exposes framing, constructed narratives, and ideological distortions.
In addition, Tichy served on the planning staff of former German Federal Chancellor Helmut Kohl (CDU) and contributed to and wrote for his direct successor, Gerhard Schröder (SPD), on the concept of The New Centre.
Following German reunification, he played a leading role as Deputy to the Federal Broadcasting Commissioner in reorganising the broadcasting system of the former GDR. Later, within the executive division of Jürgen Schrempp, he headed the department for Corporate Issues Management, reporting directly to the Chairman of the Board.
At the Media Forum of B-Safe26, he will engage in a discussion on how to identify and apply robust, reliable information in times of crisis and information overload – and how to distinguish facts from framing. Tichy supports B-Safe26 because genuine stability arises from sovereignty, substance, and courageous, direct dialogue – values that are indispensable in a multipolar world.
